LDS Business College is looking for several part-time (adjunct) Software Development Instructors who are passionate about helping students in their journey to becoming proficient software professionals.

If you have a desire to make a difference in individual's lives, we want you as an adjunct (part-time) instructor for the LDS Business College Software Development Program.

Teaching for the Software Development Program is a unique experience. You will find yourself interacting more with students and lecturing less. You will find that you are a mentor and guide not a lecturer. It is an uplifting and positive experience for both instructor and learner.


Minimum Qualifications:

For ALL types of Software Development Instructors

  • Proven teaching ability at the college level and an understanding of collaborative learning and competency-based teaching
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a related field; master's degree preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills using the English language
  • Demonstrable knowledge of SOLID Principles, Design Patterns, Agile Engineering Practices
  • Experience working in SCRUM teams is highly desirable

JavaScript Instructors

  • Minimum of three years' worth of experience with JavaScript, JQuery, CSS and HTML; Angular experience is a plus.

Java Instructors

  • Minimum of three years' worth of experience with Java -- either front-end or back-end
  • Familiarity with data structures and algorithm design

Python Instructors

  • Minimum of three years' worth of experience developing back-end Python application using Django or similar framework

Xamarin Instructors

  • Minimum of three years' worth of experience developing mobile applications with at least one year using Xamarin

C# Instructors

  • Minimum of three years' worth of experience of C# development; some experience with UWP is preferable


Expected Outcomes:

  1. Students are taught applicable concepts and principles in an effective manner.
  2. Courses are administered effectively, and student records are accurately recorded and well-organized.
  3. Students have reasonable access to their instructor, and are able to receive sound academic advice.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Effectively teaches the assigned program objectives. Uses the “College Learning Pattern” to teach relevant skills that have immediate practical application. Initiates, facilitates, and moderates classroom discussions.
  2. Prepares course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts. Compiles, administers, evaluates, and grades student examinations, class work, assignments, and papers. Maintains student attendance records, grades, and other required records.
  3. Mentors students as they determine career goals and seek academic advice. Responds to student inquiries in a timely manner.

Worthiness Qualification

Must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently temple worthy.
